The TCS London Marathon 2024
The finishers medal from this years TCS London Marathon.

Young Lives Vs Cancer
Meade Clarke was running for the charity Young Lives Vs Cancer in memory of her incredible mum. She sadly lost her battle to cancer in 2018; no matter how hard she fought, unfortunately the cancer overtook. Meade has since become passionate about raising awareness and funds (along with her sister) for cancer charities. Meade successfully managed to raise nearly £3000! This was a huge boost for her and the rest of her family ahead of The London Marathon.

TCS London Marathon EXPO
The 2024 London Marathon running show was between Wednesday 17th to Saturday 20th April. We attended on the Saturday to collect our event pack which contained our all-important bib number.
What can you expect from the EXPO?
The running show is a fantastic opportunity to do some last minute shopping and top up on energy bars, gels and chews ahead of the big race. You can check out some of your favourite brands such as Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Hoka One One, and many more. Guest speakers and virtual interviews from high level athletes gives you a little more insight into what it takes to reach the top level of sport.

How Did Race Day Go?
The goal was to complete London Marathon in under 4 hours. Meade completed her first ever marathon in an impressive time of 3 hours and 47 minutes. We have worked tirelessly for months on end to achieve this result, I’m absolutely made up for her.
Being her coach for this prep, I felt the pressure and responsibility in ensuring she was in the best physical and mental state possible. Meade not only wanted to complete the distance, she wanted to deliver a performance her mum could be proud of.

At The Finish With The Medals
WHAT A FEELING! All the hard work and sacrifices have paid off. Signing up to a marathon requires a lot of hard work and a big time commitment to achieve a great result. Receiving that famous London Marathon medal is a reflexion of perseverance and hard work from months of training.

TCS London Marathon 2025 – WE GO AGAIN
Next year at The TCS London Marathon I will be running for Young Lives Vs Cancer.
It’s not the first time I’ve run for a charity. In 2021, I completed a running challenge which was a mixture of distances ranging from 10k to Ultramarathons which tested me over 100 consecutive day’s running. I was proud that my achievements made the local press, the Yorkshire Evening Post, Telegraph and Argus, and the Keighley News.
